While at the Royal College of Art, James studied anatomy in a morgue - the basis for an exhibition and book called "The Anatomy Room" for which he won the Sheila Robinson Prize for Drawing.

He now runs a print studio where he concentrates on fine art projects and print design. James has collaborated with Chloe, Yves Saint Laurent and Camilla Staerk, and created a series of flower drawings for Paul Smith at Terminal Five.
